Xiaomi’s Redmi series has propelled them to the top of the Indian smartphone market, and they are far from done. Continuing their trend of frequent smartphone launches, Xiaomi took the wraps off the Redmi Note 7S, the spiritual younger sibling of the much-acclaimed Redmi Note 7 Pro.
The call-to-fame for this device is the inclusion of a 48-megapixel primary camera which has not yet been witnessed in the Indian market at this price point. More on that in a bit.
Redmi Note 7S specifications
The Redmi Note 7S is powered by the octa-core Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset paired with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. It is physically similar to the Redmi Note 7 Pro too, with a 6.3-inch display with a dot notch on the top and a resolution of 2340 x 1080. Both the front and the back are covered by Gorilla Glass 5 which is a great addition in this segment.
On the back, we get a dual camera setup consisting of a 48-megapixel camera, along with a 5-megapixel depth sensor. In low light scenarios, the phone combines 4 pixels to form large 1.6μm Super Pixels for brighter images. Other camera features of the Redmi Note 7S include a handheld Night mode, AI scene detection, AI portrait etc.
Speaking on the occasion, Anuj Sharma, Chief Marketing Officer, Xiaomi India, said, “Xiaomi India has achieved major success in the Indian smartphone industry, and one of the key contributing factors is our Redmi Note series which is known to offer the best of innovative features with great quality at truly honest pricing. Our newly launched Redmi Note 7S continues this strong legacy with a powerful 48MP camera, offering our Mi Fans the opportunity to capture and enjoy excellent images in addition to its array of amazing features.”
