The new GoPro Hero7 Black action cam has dropped and I am showing signs similar to an extreme sugar rush.
The primary reason for this is the fact that the Hero 7 Black offers unheard levels of video stabilization.
GoPro calls it HyperSmooth and it works underwater, high-shock and wind situations where gimbals mostly can’t go. That also means you don’t need to buy a separate gimbal, which makes the price tag of ₹37,000 quite enticing.
The juicy bits don’t end there because with the Hero 7 Black, GoPro brings in a revolutionary way to capture video and its called TimeWarp. What this essentially does is that it applies a high-speed, ‘magic-carpet-ride’ effect to your videos. Think of it as a hyper-stabilized, sped-up video of you walking, diving, or taking a drive. The entire bit plays out in seconds, similar, or this case, way faster than a Timelapse.
This is also the first GoPro to that lets you live stream, which means you can share in real time on Facebook, YouTube and more. The GoPro Hero 7 Black also lets you shoot in Portrait mode, which is great to share on your Instagram page or as a Snapchat story. There are improvements on the 2-inch touchscreen too, with a much better interface and improved overall touch response.
The line-up will include two more cameras– Hero 7 Silver and the Hero 7 White, priced at ₹28,000 and ₹19,000 while the flagship Hero 7 Black will be offered at ₹37,000. The cameras will be available in-store from Thursday, September 27 and we will be getting our hands on it on soon. Expect a full-blown review.
