Nokia has been on a spree of populating the budget segment of India with their Android offerings. Now, in their third generation, Nokia plans to introduce a couple of trendy upgrades, starting with the Nokia 8.2.
A new report suggests that the upcoming Nokia 8.2 will have a pop-up selfie camera much alike many other current high-end smartphones. For Nokia’s first pop-up camera, they will be opting for a 32-megapixel shooter.
Some other interesting leaked specifications include that the Nokia 8.2 will run on Android 10 Q out-of-the-box and will be a part of the Android One program as well. The final stable build of Android Q is expected towards the end of August and hence, the Nokia 8.2 can be expected to launch after that, and will probably be one of the first phones to be powered by the latest version of Android.
The Nokia 8.2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 700-series chipset with the Snapdragon 730 or the unannounced 735 being the most likely candidates. RAM is expected to be at 8GB and up to 256GB of internal storage.
Nokia is also rumoured to be working on two 5G-enabled devices, with one being a flagship and another, being a mid-ranger. If they stick with their current nomenclature, the Nokia 8.2 could be the other 5G device, or at least, a variant of it.
Currently, the Nokia 8.1 is priced at around 20K in India, but was much more expensive at launch. If these specifications are indeed true, the Nokia 8.2 will be a worthy competitor to the Redmi K20, the Realme X and a few other mid-rangers.
